B.E./B.Tech (4-year degree) in CS / IT / Computer Applications / Electronics / ECE / Electronics & Telecom / Electronics & Instrumentation. OR Postgraduate Degree in the same disciplines. OR DOEACC 'B' Level Certification from a recognized institute.
University / Institute
Degree or certification must be from a university / institute recognized by UGC / AICTE / Government of India. Always verify with the latest IBPS SO notification.
Age Limit
Minimum 20 years, maximum 30 years. Relaxations: SC/ST +5 years · OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) +3 years · PwBD +10 years · Ex-Servicemen as per Government rules.
Nationality
Indian Citizen. Other eligibility as per IBPS SO notification (Nepalese / Bhutanese / Tibetan refugees may also be eligible; check the official notification).

Eligibility FAQ

Candidates must hold a B.E./B.Tech (4-year degree) or a Postgraduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, ECE, Electronics & Telecommunication, or Electronics & Instrumentation from a recognized university. DOEACC 'B' Level certification is also accepted.

Minimum age is 20 years and maximum age is 30 years. Relaxations apply: SC/ST candidates get +5 years, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) get +3 years, and PwBD candidates get +10 years.

No. Prelims is purely qualifying in nature. Only the Mains Examination score (80%) and Interview score (20%) are used to prepare the final merit list.

The selection process consists of three stages: Preliminary Examination (qualifying), Main Examination (80% weightage), and Interview (20% weightage). The final merit list is based on the combined Mains + Interview score.

Yes. 0.25 marks are deducted for every wrong answer in both Prelims and Mains. Un-attempted questions carry no penalty. Accuracy matters more than attempting all questions.

No. GATE qualification is not required. Candidates with the prescribed educational qualification and within the age limit can apply directly.

No. The Professional Knowledge paper in Mains tests theoretical concepts like Operating Systems, DBMS, Networking, Data Structures, Software Engineering, Cyber Security, and Cloud Computing. No coding questions are asked.

There is no restriction on the number of attempts. Candidates can apply as long as they are within the prescribed age limit and meet the eligibility criteria.

    Preliminary Examination (Qualifying)

    Online objective test across 4 tests: English Language, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude and Professional Knowledge. Prelims is purely qualifying; marks are NOT counted in the final merit list. Candidates must clear the minimum cut-off in each test to be shortlisted for Mains.

Professional Knowledge carries the highest weight. Mains score carries 80% weightage in the final merit list.

    Final Merit List & Bank Allotment

    The final merit list is prepared based on combined Mains + Interview scores in the ratio 80:20. Candidates are allotted to participating Public Sector Banks based on preference, vacancies, and merit position.

    • Bank allotment based on vacancy, merit, and candidate preference
    • Provisional allotment letters issued by IBPS
